For people who know what pure ghee should feel like.

Somtuuk begins with milk from grass-fed Desi buffaloes and follows the complete traditional journey: milk becomes curd, curd is Bilona-churned into makkhan and makkhan is slowly transformed into aromatic ghee.

There are no rushed shortcuts and no plastic in our churning or ghee-making process. Every batch is prepared with patience so the nutrition, familiar aroma and grainy texture can speak for themselves.

What Makes Our Ghee Unique?

At Somtuuk, we don’t just call it Desi Ghee; we make it the Desi way. Our Desi Buffalo Ghee is prepared with patience, traditional methods and a simple belief that good ghee should have nothing to hide.

We follow the traditional Bilona process, in which Desi buffalo milk is first turned into curd, the curd is then churned to separate makkhan and the makkhan is slowly transformed into rich and aromatic ghee. The complete process follows the traditional journey of Milk → Curd → Bilona Churning → Makkhan → Ghee, without rushed shortcuts.

From preparation and churning to the final ghee-making stage, we do not use plastic materials in our process because we believe that the utensils and materials used while making your ghee matter too. Our ghee is specifically made from Desi Buffalo Milk, which gives it a rich taste, fuller texture and the traditional character that buffalo ghee is known for.

At Somtuuk, we are proud to show how our ghee is made because anyone can write “pure” on a jar, but true trust comes from transparency. From milk to curd, Bilona churning to makkhan and makkhan to your jar of Somtuuk Ghee, every step is part of our promise.

The rich aroma when the ghee touches a hot roti, its danedaar texture when you open the jar and its familiar homemade taste are the experiences we want every Somtuuk jar to bring back. Somtuuk — don’t just trust the word “Pure”; know your ghee. We don’t just call it Desi Ghee. We make it the Desi way.

No Plastic in Our Ghee-Making Process. Plastic is kept away from the entire churning and ghee-making process, reflecting our commitment to making ghee in a cleaner, safer and more traditional way.
